28 Jul MLB DFS July 28th
These are meant to be used for your cash games, so 50/50, double ups, and triple ups.
(Update: Rupp/Profar out of lineup for FD switch to Realmuto at C, Ceaser Hernandez at 2B, and Mazara for Eaton in OF. On DK switch Dietrich for Profar at 2B and Ozuna for Williamson in OF)
SP: Aaron Nola ($8,000)- on FD you want to select a pitcher that has a really good chance at a win. While Nola is not the biggest favorite on the board tonight, he does have one of, if not the best single matchup on the board. The Braves are one of the worst teams against RHP, and while Nola has had an up and down season that allows us to get him at a discounted price. I do envision him getting back on track tonight against the Braves.
C: Cameron Rupp ($2,900)- Check to make sure he is in the lineup first, if not easy pivot to teammate Carlos Ruiz ($2,500). The Phillies catchers usually hit in the five or six spot in the order, and in a solid spot against Matt Wisler. Rupp has gone 3-for-5 with a homer and a double in limited action against Matt Wisler of the Braves.
1B: David Ortiz ($4,700)- Has three homers and 10 RBIs over 37 career at-bats against Jered Weaver. Having a career season in his supposed last season, Ortiz versus weak RHP lock it in for big output.
2B- Jurickson Profar ($2,300)- Has been at his best this season when he gets regular at-bats. He’s also much better at home, batting .358/.386/.412 with three homers, two triples, and a double over 67 at-bats.
3B- Manny Machado ($3,800)- Playing at home usually gets him going, and he has definitely produced, going 7-for-22 (.318 AVG) with two homers, three walks, four runs, and three RBIs.
SS- Brandon Crawford ($2,500)- An absolute bargain tonight at just $2500 on FanDuel. Has been rock solid, batting .297/.347/.459 with three homers over his last 30 games.
OF- Mookie Betts ($4,500)- More exposure against Jerad Weaver. Averaging 19.1 fantasy points over his last 6 games on FD, we will take that everyday of the week and twice on Sunday.
OF- Jackie Bradley Jr. ($3,200)- Has had similar production to Betts over the last week, and is $1,300 cheaper. You will see a pattern here as I am stacking Red Sox against Weaver tonight. On a smaller slate like tonight with only seven games on tap, you’re going to want to stack more than you would on a larger slate, and the Red Sox definitely fit that bill tonight.
OF- Adam Eaton ($3,000)- According to PITCHf/x, Eaton matches up better than any other White Sox bat against John Lackey’s repertoire. Prior to his 0-for-4 outing last night, had reached base safely in eight of his last 17 plate appearances.
SP- Chris Sale ($11,000)- The team-mandated suspension is done and Sale is ready to get back on the hill. While the Cubs have hit left-handed pitching well this season, they’ve posted just a .311 wOBA over the past week and have lost three of their last five. Sale hasn’t faced them this season, but he did face most of this crew twice last year and held them to one run over 14 innings (two starts) with 25….strikeouts. From my understanding, the White Sox are not planning on wearing any special jerseys, and even if they were, I don’t think this is the best time to mess with their ace. The Cubs are hitting well-below their super strong season-long numbers, and are currently a middle-of-the-road hitting team in the month of July. Sale has a lot to prove, is well-rested, and should be pitching with a vengeance tonight.
SP- Aaron Nola ($8,400)- The Braves bats may have come to life yesterday, but I have no faith in them consistently producing. They’re still posting just a .286 wOBA against righties this year and that comes with just a .120 ISO and a .660 OPS.
C- Sandy Leon ($2,900)- Only $2900 on DraftKings going against Jered Weaver, who is having the worst season of his career, rocking an embarrassing 5.79 xFIP.
1B- David Ortiz ($5,600)- Read above.
2B- Jurickson Profar ($3,700)- Read above.
3B- Maikel Franco ($3,300)- Has been struggling to maintain an OBP above .300 over the last few weeks, but is always a threat to take one out of the park. Is 5-for-9 (.556 AVG) with a homer and two doubles, lifetime, against Matt Wisler.
SS- Manny Machado ($4,400)- Read above.
OF- Ian Desmond ($4,600)- Just a beast at home in Arlington and has hit five homers and two doubles while driving in seven runs and scoring eight times over his last 10 games.
OF- Denard Span ($3,500)- Has the revenge narrative going considering he’s facing his former team in the Nationals, and has six multi-hit games over his last 10.
OF- Mac Williamson ($2,600)- Have to find some value somewhere. Definitely make sure he is in the lineup for the Giants, but over his last seven games he is averaging 8.8 points on DraftKings.
